CRAZY FOR YOU
MUSIC & LYRICS BY: George and Ira Gershwin
BOOK BY: Ken Ludwig
THE STORY: Set in the 1930s, Crazy For You follows Bobby Child, a wealthy New York banker with a passion for show business. Tasked with foreclosing on a theater in the desolate town of Deadrock, Nevada, Bobby discovers the theater’s owner is Polly Baker, the only woman in town. Smitten by Polly and determined to save the theater, Bobby devises a plan to produce a spectacular show, enlisting the help of New York showgirls and the local townsfolk. Disguising himself as the renowned producer Bela Zangler, Bobby navigates a series of comedic misunderstandings, mistaken identities, and romantic entanglements. Featuring classic Gershwin tunes like “I Got Rhythm,” “Embraceable You,” and “Someone to Watch Over Me,” this high-energy musical is a celebration of love, ambition, and the magic of theater.
