Audrey: (Age: 18 to 30) A conflicted yet soft hearted woman in an abusive romantic relationship. She yearns for a life of beauty and comfort that she doesn’t believe she deserves. Vocal range: D5 – G#3

Mr. Mushnik: (Age: 45 to 65) A tired Jewish owner of a failing flower shop and Seymour’s self appointed parental figure. He is a desperate and manipulative man. Vocal range: F4 – G2

Orin Scrivello: (Age: 30 to 45) A sadistic dentist with a passion for control and power.A textbook narcissist who is also Audrey’s abusive boyfriend. Vocal range: G4 – G2

Voice of the Plant: (Age: Any) An actor/vocalist located offstage. The voice is that of an all powerful, no nonsense, groovy, and cunning, powerhouse. Soul, Funk, 80’s R&B, and/or Rock and Roll vocal stylings. Think Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Etta James. Vocal range: G4 – G2

Crystal, Chiffon, & Ronnette: (Age: 18 to 40) Our narrators. The joy of the neighborhood. Smart, stylish, and vivacious. They see their community through the lens of hope, humor, and harmonies. Vocal range: F5 – Ab3

Ensemble: (Age: 18 to 70) The inhabitants of the Skid Row neighborhood. Expressive, grounded, and vibrant singer/dancers with the ability to play multiple characters. Vocal range: G2 – E5

Puppeteer The Plant (Audrey II): Puppet. An anthropomorphic Venus flytrap. The plant has an appetite for human flesh that is appeased by Seymour. Puppeteer doubles as other sizes of the plant. Non-singing role
